Viikon kuva on otettu kotimatkalla Bergöstä sunnuntai-iltana. Mustalla kehystetty tuulimylly oli pysähtymisen arvoinen näky.

The photo of the week was last week's last pic. I stopped for this on my way home from the cottage. A windmill with darkness as a frame just looked good.

Mutta aloitetaan taas alusta. Tiistaina töihin lähtiessä oli kotikadulla hieno auringonnousu. Yleensä kuvaan osuu laskuja, joten vaihtelua tuokin!

But again back to the beginning of the week. I usually publish sunset pics, but here's a sunrise for a change. Shot on Tuesday when I started walking to work.

Hietasaaren katu on ollut poikki eri kohdista. Tekevät tuohon uutta poikittaista pyörätietä. 

A street near me has been closed for a few weeks in different places. There's a wide bicycle road coming.

Nyt tuli vasta toisen kerran 19 vuoden asumisen aikana hyödynnettyä kodin edessä olevia aronia-puita pakastimen täyttämiseen. 

I picked some aronia berries for the freezer. Only the second time during the 19 years that I've lived here. 

Mökillä lämmin ilta ja kuuton tähtitaivas innosti tuijottelemaan pitkään ja hakemaan kameran. Asetukset ei osuneet ihan nappiin, ehkä se täyskenno on kuitenkin tähän parempi.

Saturday evening at the cottage was warm and the Moon wasn't visible so I got stuck staring at the stars. Camera settings were not perfect, my full-frame Sony would be better for this.

Sunnuntaina huomattiin mökillä puutarhassa yllättäviä vieraita.

On Sunday we noticed some surprise guests in the garden.

Teini-ikäiset nuoret oli myös vanhempien mukana tutustumassa paikkoihin. 

Teenage swans were also along with parents checking out the place.

Viikonlopun uusi peli oli Radlands. Tämä olikin kehujensa arvoinen tiukka kaksinkamppailu. Katarina voitti erät 3-1 ja jokainen peli oli jännä. Tuossa molemmilla on kolme leiriä ja pelissä vain yritetään tuhota ekana toisen leirit. Kortteja voi pelata puolustajiksi leirien eteen, jolloin niistä saa hyödyllisiä ominaisuuksia käyttöönsä. Osa korteista on tapahtumia, jolloin ne laitetaan eteneviksi hyökkäyksiksi sivuun. Ja muuten joka kortissa on jokin pikkuresurssi, jonka saa jos kortin laittaa pois. Varma reissupeli meidän tulevalle lomalle. 👍🏻

The new game of the week was Radlands. This one was a really good finding and an exciting duel. Katarina won our games 3-1 but each of those was tight. Both players have three camps and the winner just needs to destroy them first. Cards contain people that are protecting camps and offer different tools. Some cards are events that are forwarding per each turn towards execution. All cards have also an icon of a goodie that the player gets if it's discarded. This will surely be one of the vacation games on our oncoming trip. 👍🏻 

Mökiltä lähtiessä huomasin metsän reunan takaa kurkistavana jännän punertavan kuun. Lossilla menin heti kuvaamaan sen.

While driving home from the cottage I noticed a strangely red Moon behind the trees. At the ferry I immediately took a photo of it.

Olinkin ainoa mukana tuleva, vastaankaan ei tullut ketään ja ajoin 19 km ennen kuin tuli traktori vastaan. Neljä km myöhemmin näkyi ekat autot.

I was the only one on the ferry, nobody came in the opposite direction and I drove 19 km before seeing somebody else on the road. A quiet night.

Viikon kuva - Ilari villiintyi

Viikon kuvana todiste miten villiksi voi stand up mennä, kun fanit tunkee lähes lavalle. Näin nyt Ilari Johanssonin seitsemännen kerran ja nyt sai ekan kerran mun exceliin täydet pisteet. Jatkoi edelleen samaa tyyliään, mutta nyt se jotenkin iski paremmin.

The photo of the week is from a wild moment with the last performer of a stand up night I participated in. I saw this guy now for the seventh time and this was the best of those. He still talks to the audience a lot and makes funny noises, but this time it hit me better than in his previous shows.

Onnistuin sieppaamaan eturivin paikan. Tuo on ollut aina vähän perinne.

I got a front row seat. A kind of tradition.

Viikolla oli vielä opiskelijoiden lukukauden aloituksen meininkiä. 

During last week the students beginning their year were still active.

Uusi Onkilahden pyörätie valmistui. Ja sen varrella kätevä kuntoilupaikka. 

The new bike road is now finalized. And there's a workout place next to it.

Lauantaina oltiin Katarinan lapsenlapsen Millan ammana. Ennen nukkumaanmenoa vielä jakso Peppi Pitkätossua.  

On Saturday we were babysitting Katarina's granddaughter Milla. One episode of the Swedish Pippi child's program show before she headed to bed.

Ja sitten illan kuluksi erä The Castles of Burgundyä. On se hyvä peli. Vaikka hävisin reilusti.

Then we took a round of The Castles of Burgundy. It's a really good game. Even though I lost clearly.

Kiva rinki nähdä uusia paikkoja ja jutella kaikesta. 

A nice walk to see new places and talk about everything.

Vielä Vaasassa ennen Katarinan lähtöä laivalle erä Splendor Duelia, jonka hävisin erittäin niukasti. Olisin seuraavalla vuorolla saanut tasapelipisteet. 

And just before she left for the ferry we took a round of Splendor Duel. I lost it too, but very closely. On the next turn I would have gotten points to be even.

Viikon kuva - Uusi lapsenlapsi!

Viime viikolla tapahtui taas tosi paljon, mutta itseoikeutettuna tärkeimpänä kuvana on mun toinen lapsenlapsi, joka syntyi viime viikon maanantaina. Hymytyttö jo pienestä alkaen. ❤️ 

A lot happened last week but there's no doubt about the most important pic. Here's my second grandchild who was born on last week's Monday. She seems to smile a lot already from the beginning. ❤️

Maanantaina tapasin Katen ja Paulin, joiden kans treffattiin 2011. Oltiin silloin Tarjan kans autoreissulla Denveristä ringin kiertäen ja San Franciscossa käveltiin neljästään muutama tunti. Nyt iltakävelyn ja iltapalan jälkeen pelattiin erä Cascadiaa, Paul vakavana, vaikka voitti kuitenkin mut. 

On Monday I met Kate and Paul. When I and Tarja did a roadtrip in 2011 from Denver, we met them in San Francisco and walked together for a few hours. Now we did a walk, had a light dinner and played a round of Cascadia.  Paul looks quite serious even though he won me.

Tiistaina kiersin heidän kanssaan turisteilemassa: ensin aamupäivän sateen suojassa Pohjanmaan museon taidenäyttely ja Terra Nova.

On Tuesday I did a tourist round with them: first during morning rain we visited the nearby museum and its contemporary art side + Terra Nova which tells about the nature of this area.

Sitten lounas Berny'ssillä Raippaluodon silta -näkymällä ja sateen loputtua Svedjehamniin maailmanperintöaluetta katsomaan. 

Then a lunch at Berny's with bridge/sea views and finally Svedjehamn where the Unesco Nature World Heritage area is at its best.

Paul näkötornin huipulla. Kiersivät tällä matkallaan Oslosta Bergenin ja Tukholman kautta Suomeen ja lopuksi Tallinnaan. Merkintöjä reissusta löytyy Paulin blogista englanniksi täältä. 

Paul at the top of the viewing tower. During this trip they started from Oslo, went to Bergen, then Stockholm and Finland. And finally Tallinn. His blog tells about their trips.

That night I took a quick walk around the block. 

Viikolla alkoi taloyhtiön autotallissa latauspaikkojen asennus. Pian siis helpottuu tuokin asia.

Last week began the installation of car charging stations to our garage. So it's going to get easier soon.

Perjantaina osui aamuun kunnon sumu. Näistä tulee aina kivoja kuvia, jopa Lauri Tähkä oli kuvailemassa samoilla nurkilla.

Friday morning happened to be foggy. Those always give nice photos, me just with my phone but others walked there with a proper camera.

Pyöräilijä ei kuvaamaan ehdi. 

Photographing is more handy when walking than from a bicycle.

Aita on täynnä hämähäkkien verkkoja, mutta tulevat näkyviin vain sumussa.

The fence on my way is full of spider nets but those are visible only when it's foggy.

Palatessa matkassa näkyneiden eläinten lajikirjo kasvoi, kun minkki tuli vastaan pyörätiellä.

On my way home I got to see one more new species as I saw a mink.

Perjantai-iltana käytiin Katarinan tyttären pojan synttäreillä. Vaikka minä oon tämän Splendor Marvelin opettanut porukoille, niin oon siinä nykyään täysin altavastaajana.  

On Friday evening we participated in Katarina's grandson's birthday party. Even though I'm the one who taught Splendor Marvel to them I didn't have a chance in the competition. 

Lauantaina oli Wärtsilän perhepäivä uudella STH:lla. Oltiin siellä Katarinan, Elsan ja Artturin kanssa. Artturia kiinnosti eniten trukit tehtaan puolella, haita kohtaan oli varovaisen varautunut.

On Saturday there was a family day in Wärtsilä's new STH facility. We were there with Tarja's mother, Katarina and grandson Artturi. Artturi was most interested in forklifts but suspicious of sharks.

Iltapäivällä käytiin kurkkaamassa rannassa Silakka- ja Siikamarkkinat. Oli säät kohdillaan ja sai vaihtaa kuulumiset tuttujen kanssa kun Pirjo & Seppo tuli vastaan.

That afternoon we walked to shore to check out a Fish market happening. An excellent weather and we got to meet also a friend couple.

Ruokakojuihin oli ihan hyvin jonoa.

Meillä tuli kuitenkin mentyä Urban Pasta -ravintolaan. Mulle eka kerta, oli hyvää!

But we walked to Urban Pasta restaurant. My first time, but it was really good!

Viikon uutena pelinä oli Bonfire. Otettiin lauantaina kaksi erää ja taas tilanne kutkuttavasti 1-1. Tässä teemana on fantasia, mutta se on vain kuvitusta. Peli on mainio rakentelu, jossa pitää kaikkia alueita edistää hyvään tulokseen pääsemiseksi. Omalla vuorolla voi hankkia toimintoja tuolla pelilaudan keskustan tetris-osiolla tai tehdä yhden toiminnon tai sytyttää yhden tuollaisen kokon. Kun päälaudan kehällä on seitsemän omaa + vastustajan + neutraalia heppua, niin alkaa viimeiset viisi kierrosta. Sen jälkeen lasketaan pisteet monesta eri paikasta. Hyvä peli! 👍🏻

The new game of the week was Bonfire. We played two rounds on Saturday and the situation is now tight 1-1. It has a clear fantasy theme but that's just the cover. It's a good tactical mind puzzle where you need to forward in all areas to get a good result. In your turn you can choose from three options: get action tiles with that tetris-thing in the middle. Do one of those actions. Or light one bonfire which is ready. When the main board circle has seven maples (neutral or anybody's own) the game ending is triggered and everybody has five rounds. After that the points are counted from several different places. A good game! 👍🏻 

Illalla käytiin vielä kierroksella hautausmaan ja Katarinan 30v-työpaikan kiertäen. Tämä lampi oli työvuosinaan tullut tutuksi.

That night we did a bicycle round via the cemetery and a bond which was next to Katarina's work place for 30 years. 

Sunnuntaina Katarina oli lupautunut töihin Stundarssin syysmarkkinoille, joten kiertelin siellä kuvaamassa paikkoja.

On Sunday Katarina had agreed to work in Stundars Autumn market. So I walked around the place during that time and took photos.

Sieniyhdistys oli myös saanut aikaiseksi kiinnostavan pöydän. Tuossa riitti paljon porukoita kyselemässä. 

The mushroom association had an interesting display. Many people asked them different questions.

Kävin taas kurkkaamassa kirpparin, mutta lautapeleissä ei mitään kiinnostavaa. 

I peeked again at the flea market but nothing interesting boardgamewise.

Viikon kuva - mökkivieraita

Sunnuntaina saatiin mökkivieraita kun puolalaiset opiskelijat Janusz ja Grzegorz tuli vierailulle mökille. Paljon riitti juttua ja kokemusten vaihtoa. 

The photo of the week is from Sunday when we had visitors at the cottage. Polish students Janusz and Grzegorz were really easy to talk with and we had many interesting discussions.

Ja sitten taas alkuviikkoon. Tilasin normitöpseliin sopivan latauskaapelin laturille.shop -kaupasta ja kantaessa vähän ihmettelin laatikon painoa. Siä olikin kilo sokeria! En tiedä pitäiskö kiittää vai kirota, mutta makeeta kuitenkin oli. 😃

Back to the beginning of last week. I wondered why a post package was so heavy while carrying it home. The cable enabling car charging from a normal plug had some surprising content. Don't know if I should thank or curse them but: Sweet! 😃

Pidettiin pitkästä aikaa Pizza-Perjantai.

It's been a while since our previous Pizza Friday.

Viikonlopun uutena pelinä oli Clank! Catacombs. Tuossa rakennetaan itselle pakkaa ja yritetään selvitä hengissä luolaston uumenista artefaktin kanssa. Ulos selvinneistä eniten pisteitä saanut on sitten voittaja. Ihan hyvä peli, ehkä ennemmin isommalla porukalla, mutta kaksinkin mukava ja jää kyllä hyllyyn! Suomeksi löytyy kuvaus tuon pelin aiemmista versioista täältä, periaatteessa tässä on vain erona, että kiinteä pelilauta puuttuu ja tuo luolasto rakennetaan joka kerta uudestaan. 

The new game of the weekend was Clank! Catacombs. In the game you build your deck of cards to be better, so that you can move and fight and buy even better cards. The catacombs are built to something new in every round. The target is to find an artifact and make it out from the catacombs alive. And the one of survivors who got the most points is the winner of the game. This is probably better with more than two players, but it was still so good that it's surely a keeper and stays on my shelf. 

Mökin autotalli on jo pitkällä ja muun homman ohessa katon reunukset saivat nyt päälleen punamultamaalin.

The garage got now among other finalising tasks a traditional red paint to its plank parts.

Lauantaina oli taas upea auringonlasku.

Sunnuntaina vieraiden saunoessa mäkin näin vihdoin miten tyrnimehua kerätään.
