Paluu Balkanille 2/2

Vielä loppusatsi kuvia vuoden takaiselta yksin tehdyltä autoreissulta Balkanille. Tässä olin päässyt Montenegrossa ylängön maisematien läpi ja alhaalla joen varressa menevä tie oli jo lähellä.

And the last photos from my solo roadtrip to the Balkans last year. Here I had driven through the highland scenery road in Montenegro and was quite close to the main road by the river.

Lähellä rajaa tie meni padon yli. Joku outo äijä tuli hätistelemään pysähtyviä autoja eteenpäin.

Rajan ylityksen jälkeen Bosnia ja Herzegovinan puolella oli koko reissuin surkein tien pätkä. Parin kymmen kilsan jälkeen oli jo onneksi mun majapaikka joen varrella tuolla yläkerrassa.

After crossing the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina I had the lousiest road of the whole trip. But after some 20 km I got to my accommodation. It was the upper room in this cottage.

Sarajevossa huone oli mukavan valoisa. 

My room in Sarajevo was nice and bright.

Kävelylle joen rantaan. Vanha kuuluisa kaupungintalo oli rakennettu uudestaan after Serbi's destroyed it. Täällä oli ammuttu ne ensimmäisen maailmansodan 1914 aloittaneet laukaukset.

Walking to the river side. The old famous city hall had been rebuilt after Serbi's destroyed it. This was the place where the First World War started in 1914.

Menin gondolilla huipulle ja sieltä pisti silmään mm. tämä hylätty armeijan kasarmi. Kävin myöhemmin kävelemässä sen ympäri, mutta liian korkeat aidat estivät paljon kuvaamista.

I took a gondola ride to the top of the hill and shot this abandoned army barracks from there. The next day I walked around it but the walls were too high so I couldn't get good pics.

Kävelin mäkeä alas ja tämä pariskunta oli ihastelemassa pilviä.

I noticed this a cloud watching couple on my walk down from the hill.

Vielä ehdin yhden hautausmaan ohi ennen kuin rankkasade alkoi.

I walked by one more cemetery before the heavy rain began.

Seuraavana päivänä kävin kurkkaamassa yhden moskeijan.

On the next day I visited one more mosque.

Keskellä kaupunkia oli jätetty roomalaisittain vanhat rauniot näytille. Nämä neljä kävelijää olivat ainoat suomalaiset, jotka bongasin matkalla alun sukellusretken jälkeen.

They had left old ruins protected for viewing downtown. These four were the only Finns I spotted during the trip (after the diving trip on the first day)

Puistossa oli peli käynnissä.

The Olympics of 1984 were still visible in a few places.

Katutasossa oli aika järkky näyttely Bosnian sodan tarinoista. Tässä tuomittuja sotarikollisia. 

The ground floor had a terrible exhibition of the war they had in the 90's. Here are some war criminals.

Mostarin vanha siltakin oli tuhottu sodassa, mutta rakennettu nyt uudestaan. Siellä reunalla heilui hyppääjiä, jotka keräsivät katsojilta rahaa ja kun satanen oli täynnä, niin hyppäsivät alas jokeen 24 metriä.

The old bridge of Mostar was also destroyed during the 90's war and it was rebuilt exactly as it was originally. On the sides were these young guys collecting money and when they had 100€ they jumped down 24 meters (79 ft) to the river.

Kravican vesiputoukset olivat iso turistirysä, jonne tuli bussilasteja porukkaa uimaan. Harmittavasti olin unohtanut uikkarit autoon.

The waterfall of Kravica is a big tourist attraction, buses to people there to swim. Too bad that I forgot my swimming trousers in my car.

Matka jatkui ja Kroatian puolella tie nousi ylemmäs hienoille näköalapaikoille.

The drive continued and on the Croatian side the road went up and revealed nice scenery.

Viimeisen yön olin Tivatin sataman vierellä ja huoneesta oli hieno näköala.

I spent the last night in Tivat harbour and had a nice view from my hotel room.

Tuolloin 31. päivä toukokuuta oli jokin lukiolaisten koulupäättäjäisjuhla. Aluksi pareja juhlapuvuissa pyöri ympäriinsä ja juuri kulkueen hetkelle osui kunnon sadekuuro.

I was there on May 31st and it was some course ending day for local High school or something. At first the couples walked around and took selfies. And just when this parade began there was also heavy rain. 

Kaikki tuolta matkalta julkaistut kuvat löytyvät nyt tuolta Balkan-albumista, sieltä löytyy lisää kuvia muutamiin näiden kuvien väleihin. Kartta olisi toki sopiva lisä tähänkin ja videoitakin löytyy, saapa nähdä.

Here are a few more photos from my 2024 road trip to the Balkans. The first pause site before the city where I spent my first night.

Kävin tsekkaamassa sukellusfirman ja kiertelin vanhaa kaupunkia. Seuraavana aamuna lähdettiin matkaan.

I visited the Dive shop and walked around the old town. The next morning we headed towards our dive sites.

Toisella sukelluksella mentiin luolareittiä.

The second dive took us between the cliffs.

Ja sitten rauhoittumista paluumatkalle. Seisova hemmo tuli samalla lennolla kuin mä ja pahoitteli juopuneiden työkavereidensa metelöintiä koneessa.

Cooling down on our return. The standing guy was on the same flight as I and apologised for the noise his drunken work mates made during the flight.

Sukelluksen jälkeen lähdin ajamaan Albaniaan. Matkalla bongattu pikkukirkko:

A little church I saw while driving to Albania.

Albanian hotellilta kävin kävelyllä, kun mainostettu uima-allas ei ollutkaan auki. Kukkulan päällä näkyy seuraavan päivän kohde.

I had a pool visit planned to Albania hotel but it wasn't open yet, so I took a walk. The castle was on my next day's program.

Ajoin aamusta vielä hiljaisena aikana lähes huipulle, olisi säästänyt hermoja, jos olisin kävellyt sinne.

I drove to the topmost parking lot when it was quiet in the morning. Leaving would have been much easier if I had walked there.

Hienot näköalat oli.

The scenery was pretty.

Isossa rakennuksessa oli museo ja alakerrassa ravintola.

The big building had a museum and a restaurant.

Linnan jälkeen menin kiertelemään Dobracin keskustaan. Tämän moskeijan sisäkuvan jo julkaisinkin.

Next I walked around Dobraci downtown. The interior of this mosque can be seen in the trip album.

Lähdin kohti seuraavaa majapaikkaa vuoristossa. Maisemat taakse päin. 

I headed towards my next accommodation in the mountains. The view towards the road I drove.

Matkalla näkyi hienoja laaksoja.

A beautiful mountain valley.

Seuraavana päivänä bongattu jännä talo. Tämä oli ainoita rakennuksia kilometrien säteellä.

A house I saw the next day. There were almost no other buildings for miles.

Pari koiranpentua pelkäsi yhtä isompaa ja tulivat heti turvaan, kun kävelin läheltä.

There were little puppies who were afraid of a bigger dog and came to me for a safer place.

Iltapalaksi otin likoilta lämpimän lätyn.

I bought a warm evening snack from these girls.

Seuraavana aamuna kävelin aluksi kurkkaamaan pientä kasvitieteellistä puutarhaa.

At the beginning of the next day I walked to a nearby little botanical garden.

Matkalla kohti Tara-rotkon kuuluisaa siltaa näkyi pienempi silta.

Before getting to Tara canyon bridge I saw this smaller one.

Kävin kurkkaamassa yhden vuoriston luostarin. Nunna tuli näyttämään kirkkoa sisältä.

I visited a mountain monastery. A nun came to show me the interior of the chapel.

Tara-rotkon sillan vieressä majoituin tähän taloon. Ehkä elämäni toiseksi pienin huone (pienin oli NYC 1998).

At the Tara canyon I stayed overnight in this house. Maybe the second smallest room of my travels (after NYC 1998).

Kävin kävelemässä Tara-kanjonin sillan yli ja näkymät oli hienot.

I walked over the Tara bridge and got to see the nice views.

Toiseen suuntaan joki jatkui kohti merta.

On the other side the river continued towards the sea.

Seuraavana päivänä menin mukaan pisimmän kaapelilaskun porukkaan. Tässä lähtöpaikalla kohti siltaa.

On the next day I joined to the longest zip-line trip. Here we're at the starting place.

Ja laskun jälkeen silta näkyikin yläpuolella.

Lähdin kohti Bosnia ja Herzegovinaa maisematien kautta kiertäen.

I headed towards Bosnia and Herzegovina via a scenic route.

While driving back down from the mountains I got to a forest.
