Laitetaanpa vielä jokunen kuva lisää vuoden takaiselta Balkanin yksin ajelulta. Ensimmäinen pysähdyspaikka ennen ekan yön kaupunkia:

Here are a few more photos from my 2024 road trip to the Balkans. The first pause site before the city where I spent my first night.

Kävin tsekkaamassa sukellusfirman ja kiertelin vanhaa kaupunkia. Seuraavana aamuna lähdettiin matkaan.

I visited the Dive shop and walked around the old town. The next morning we headed towards our dive sites.

Toisella sukelluksella mentiin luolareittiä.

The second dive took us between the cliffs.

Ja sitten rauhoittumista paluumatkalle. Seisova hemmo tuli samalla lennolla kuin mä ja pahoitteli juopuneiden työkavereidensa metelöintiä koneessa.

Cooling down on our return. The standing guy was on the same flight as I and apologised for the noise his drunken work mates made during the flight.

Sukelluksen jälkeen lähdin ajamaan Albaniaan. Matkalla bongattu pikkukirkko:

A little church I saw while driving to Albania.

Albanian hotellilta kävin kävelyllä, kun mainostettu uima-allas ei ollutkaan auki. Kukkulan päällä näkyy seuraavan päivän kohde.

I had a pool visit planned to Albania hotel but it wasn't open yet, so I took a walk. The castle was on my next day's program.

Ajoin aamusta vielä hiljaisena aikana lähes huipulle, olisi säästänyt hermoja, jos olisin kävellyt sinne.

I drove to the topmost parking lot when it was quiet in the morning. Leaving would have been much easier if I had walked there.

Hienot näköalat oli.

The scenery was pretty.

Isossa rakennuksessa oli museo ja alakerrassa ravintola.

The big building had a museum and a restaurant.

Linnan jälkeen menin kiertelemään Dobracin keskustaan. Tämän moskeijan sisäkuvan jo julkaisinkin.

Next I walked around Dobraci downtown. The interior of this mosque can be seen in the trip album.

Lähdin kohti seuraavaa majapaikkaa vuoristossa. Maisemat taakse päin. 

I headed towards my next accommodation in the mountains. The view towards the road I drove.

Matkalla näkyi hienoja laaksoja.

A beautiful mountain valley.

Seuraavana päivänä bongattu jännä talo. Tämä oli ainoita rakennuksia kilometrien säteellä.

A house I saw the next day. There were almost no other buildings for miles.

Odottelua rajalla passin tarkastukseen.

Waiting on the border to get my passport checked.

Pari koiranpentua pelkäsi yhtä isompaa ja tulivat heti turvaan, kun kävelin läheltä.

There were little puppies who were afraid of a bigger dog and came to me for a safer place.

Iltapalaksi otin likoilta lämpimän lätyn.

I bought a warm evening snack from these girls.

Seuraavana aamuna kävelin aluksi kurkkaamaan pientä kasvitieteellistä puutarhaa.

At the beginning of the next day I walked to a nearby little botanical garden.

Matkalla kohti Tara-rotkon kuuluisaa siltaa näkyi pienempi silta.

Before getting to Tara canyon bridge I saw this smaller one.

Kävin kurkkaamassa yhden vuoriston luostarin. Nunna tuli näyttämään kirkkoa sisältä.

I visited a mountain monastery. A nun came to show me the interior of the chapel.

Tara-rotkon sillan vieressä majoituin tähän taloon. Ehkä elämäni toiseksi pienin huone (pienin oli NYC 1998).

At the Tara canyon I stayed overnight in this house. Maybe the second smallest room of my travels (after NYC 1998).

Kävin kävelemässä Tara-kanjonin sillan yli ja näkymät oli hienot.

I walked over the Tara bridge and got to see the nice views.

Toiseen suuntaan joki jatkui kohti merta.

On the other side the river continued towards the sea.

Seuraavana päivänä menin mukaan pisimmän kaapelilaskun porukkaan. Tässä lähtöpaikalla kohti siltaa.

On the next day I joined to the longest zip-line trip. Here we're at the starting place.

Ja laskun jälkeen silta näkyikin yläpuolella. 

And the bridge seen after the zipline.

Lähdin kohti Bosnia ja Herzegovinaa maisematien kautta kiertäen.

I headed towards Bosnia and Herzegovina via a scenic route.

The layers of rock turned up.

Alemmas laskiessa tuli taas lehtimetsää.

While driving back down from the mountains I got to a forest.

Viikon kuva - Makeita maisemia

Viikon kuva edustaa mun meneillään olevan Balkanin autoreissun hienoja maisemia. Monenlaista on näkynyt. Tämä näkyi heti toisena päivänä Montenegrossa, kun ajoin Budvasta Albanian puolelle.

The photo of the week represents all the nice scenes I've seen so far on my road trip to the Balkans. There's been several nice ones. This was on the second day on the Montenegro side when I drove to Albania.

Jo lentokentällä terminaalin ulkopuolella oli laitettu vähän luonnetta peliin.

Montenegro got some coolness already from the airport decorations.

Ekana päivänä ajoin Budvaan, kävin ilmoittautumassa sukellusfirmaan ja kiertelin vieressä olevaa vanhaa kaupunkia. 

First I drove to Budva, went to check out the diving company and did some walking around the old town.

Näkymä lahdelle tuolta samalta kaupungin muurilta.

Torstaina sitten kaksi sukellusta. Mukana yks suomalainen ja britti USAsta. 

On Thursday I did two dives. Along with a Finn and one British guy from Michigan USA.

Jatkoin samana päivän Albanian puolelle Shkoderin kaupungin luo. Perjantaina sitten ekana kaupungin vieressä olevan Rozafan linnoituksen huipulle. 

I continued on that same day to Shkoder in Albania. Then on Friday I started the day by visiting Rozafa castle.

Kaupungissa kävin valokuvausmuseossa, syömässä ja moskeijassa.

In the city I visited the Photography museum, pizzeria and a mosque.

Sen jälkeen kohti Albanian alppeja, jossa kolmas yö. Matkalla kunnon serpentiiniteitä. Tämä kohta näkyy hienosti tässä dronevideossa (seur kuva otettu videolla näkyvässä ylimmässä taukopaikka-mutkassa).

Then I drove towards Albanian alps where I had my third night booked. Nice serpentine roads on the way. Here's a nice drone video of that place (the next pic is shot on that corner resting place seen on the video). 

Ennen alas menevää serpentiiniä pysähdyin taukopaikalle ja tulin jutelleeksi Michaelan kanssa, joka on nyt kuudetta viikkoa pyöräilemässä. Lupautui 100 tuntematonta sarjaan ja tiedotti myöhemmin tuon em. drone-videon + oman bloginsa.

Before that down going serpentine road I stopped in a resting place and talked with Michaela. She's been bicycling here now for six weeks. I got her permission to take a photo to my 100 strangers series. Later she informed me about the above linked drone-video and her own blog.

Majapaikkaan päästessäni alkoi sade joksikin aikaa, mutta sen jälkeen oli huoneen terassilta hienot maisemat.

When I got to my room it rained for a while but afterwards the scene from my balcony looked quite nice.

Majapaikan koira oli kierä luontokappale. Kävin hakemassa autolta laukun ja kun katsoin taaksepäin, niin tämä oli seurannut ja makoili viattomana siinä mun perässä polulla. Portti jäi sulkematta minuutiksi ja kun käännyin, niin koiraa ei missään ja portti enemmän auki. Tiedotin asiasta, muttei kuulemma hätää - se vain aina menee hotellille, jossa isäntäväki päivät. Tuotiinkin takaisin aika pian.

The guesthouse's dog was a sneaky fellow. I briefly visited my car to pick up the luggage. After opening the gate I watched behind me and the dog had followed me and was laying innocently in the yard. I didn't realise to close the gate and after a minute I turned back, the gate was more open and the dog was nowhere. I informed the host, but I heard that it's ok. It just goes to their workplace down the road. And it was taken back quite soon. 

Sitten vielä sunnuntain kuvia. Aamupalan jälkeen kävelin paikalliseen kasvitieteelliseen puutarhaan. Näytti enemmänkin jonkin omakotitalon täynnä olevalta puutarhalta, jossa laitettu nimikylttejä kasvien väliin ja tehty koristeita. Mutta maksoi vain euron ja oli ihan söpö hauska paikka.

Then a few photos from Sunday. After breakfast I walked to a local botanical garden. The place looked like a private home in which the garden had number and name plates and some decorations. But the price was just one euro and the place was quite cute, so totally worth the money.

Jatkoin Tara kanjonin reittiä. Tie on suljettuna isomman tietyön takia, mutta respa neuvoi että joka päivä avataan klo 12-14. Mun kohdalla sai kyllä ajaa suoraan läpi jo klo 11, ehkä sunnuntaina on pidempi ruokatauko. Hieno näkymä matkan varrella.

I continued on the Tara Canyon route. The road was supposed to be closed but the reception guy instructed that it's open every day from noon to 2 p.m. Seems that they had a longer lunch on Sunday as I could drive through it already at 11 a.m. Here's a nice view on that route.

Tuossa näköalapaikalla oli jonkin Dzambasin muistomerkki ja koitin Googlen kääntäjällä mitä siinä lukee. Ollut varmaan aika hurja hemmo! 

On that scenery site was a memorial for some Dzambas. I used Google translate to see what it said and below read 'Calm down, GREAT DISORDER'. He's been a wild guy!

Seuraava yöpyminen oli Tara sillan vieressä. 

My next night was by the Tara bridge. 

Luultavasti reissuhistoriani pienin majoitus. Huoneen koko n. 3x3 metriä. 

This was probably the smallest room of my travels. It was just 3x3 meters (9x9 ft).

Iltakävelyllä vielä pilviä kanjonin rinteillä. Nämä on vain jotenkin niin hienoja mun silmään! 

Some clouds by the canyon peaks as seen on my evening walk. For some reason I just find these so cool!

Näin reissusta tulee pääosin julkaistua vain instagrammin kautta (ja sieltä fb:hen), joten nyt vielä vajaan viikon eniten asiaa on täällä (ei vaadi omaa instatiliä).
