San Marino

Italian matkalta on vielä monta kuvaa julkaistavana. Koska norsu on helpointa syödä pala kerrallaan, niin aloitetaanpa San Marinosta. Aloituskuva on tulopäivän iltakävelyltä, ja kuuluisin osa, eli huipun linnoitukset näkyivät hienosti. 

There's a lot of photos to be published from our trip to Italy, so the easiest thing is to just start and handle San Marino first. This view is from the walk on our arrival day. The hill and its three tower castles are probably the most famous sight in the country.

Saapumispäivä aloitettiin autovuokraamoon pääsemisellä ja sen jälkeen posotettiin nopeinta tietä 377 km ekalle hotellille.

After getting our rental car we headed to the highway and just drove directly (377 km / 234 mi) to our first hotel.

Maksettiin onneksi 15€ lisää, että saatiin näkymä 'meren' puolelle. Näkyihän se päiväsaikaan hämärästi tuolla kaukaisuudessa.

Fortunately, we paid 15 € more to get a 'sea view' room. The sea was visible during the day time there in the distance.

Hotelliaamupalat Italiassa ovat makeita pullia, koristeet sentään oli hienot.

The Italian breakfast is just sweet puns etc. but at least the decoration was nice.

Lähdettiin gondolikyydillä ylös vanhaan kaupunkiin. 

We took a gondola trip up to the old town.

Pyhän Marinuksen basilika oli ensimmäisiä vastaan tulleita nähtävyyksiä.

Basilica di San Marino was about the first sight we encountered.

Meidän hotelli oli tuon liikenneympyrän takana olevan talon vasemmalla puolella.

Our hotel was to the left from that building behind the roundabout.

Linnoissa oli aina useampi huone museopuoltakin.

The castles had several rooms as museum exhibits.

Otin kuvan yhdestä pariskunnasta, joten vastavuoroisesti saatiin kuva meistä. 

We got our pic taken after I helped another couple to get their photo on the same bench.

Kakkostornin huipulta näkymä kohti kolmatta tornia, joka jätettiin välistä.

Vanhan kaupungin kujilla riitti kauppoja, joista ostettiin parit matkamuistot. Ei kuitenkaan hattua. 

There was a good choice of shopping in the old town and we bought some souvenirs. No hats though.

Viikon kuva - San Marino

Pikainen kokoelma viime viikon kuvista. Pääkuvana on tämä näkymä San Marinosta, josta tuli nyt mun 80. vierailtu maa (YK-jäsenvaltioita laskien lkm vasta 77). 

Here's a quick collection of last week's photos. The photo of the week is a scene from San Marino, which became my 80th visited country (UN member visiting counter is 77).

Toinen yö nukuttiin Firenzessä ja ennen jatkoa kurkattiin keskustaa. Ponte Vecchio silta oli hieno!

The second night we slept in Florence and before driving away we visited downtown. Ponte Vecchio bridge was cool!

Pisa oli kätevä vilkaista, kun kunnon parkkipaikka löytyi ihan läheltä. 

Visiting Pisa tower was easy as the parking was handy and it was nearby.

Illaksi ajettiin meren rannalle, jossa majapaikasta oli näkymä tälle sillalle. 

That evening we drove to a place by the sea. Our room had a view of this bridge.

Nyt lauantaista saakka on oltu Roomassa ja tänään sain tuntemattomat nro 73-74 Saskia ja Martien. He ovat 7 viikon pyöräreissulla ja lähteneet Alankomaista. 

Now since Saturday we've been in Rome and today I got participants 73 and 74 to my 100 strangers series. Saskia and Martien are on a 7 week bike trip and started from the Netherlands.
