Viikon kuva - kiirusta pitää

Viikon kuvaksi tuli nyt viikon pikaisin tapahtuma, kävin tuossa katsomassa vain n. 20 minuuttia, mutta kuva on kiva. Katarinan töihin lähdön jälkeen ajoin Bergöstä kotiin ja kävin katsomassa yhden pikaveneiden kisan 100 metrin päässä kotoa. 

The photo of the week is the shortest event of the week but the picture is cool. After Katarina left to work on Sunday I drove back to Vaasa and visited the race place for 20 minutes. It was just 100 meters from my home so walking there was handy.

Alkuviikosta tiistaina käytiin joukolla Petterinmäellä. Pikapelinä Zak Pack! joka oli ihan ok, mutta siirtyi myytävien kasaan.

On Tuesday we did a group trip to Elsa's old home. The game of the evening was Pack and Stack. An ok game but went for trade.

Bergössä olin pe-su, perjantaina vedettiin kaksi erää Agricolaa ja viikonlopun uutena pelinä oli Canopy. Tämä olikin ihan mainio setinkeräys peli, jossa kerätään itselle sademetsää. Korkein puu tuo lisäpisteitä ja tarjolla myös kasvipisteitä sekä pisteitä + erilaisia toimintoja eläinkorteilla. Helppo nopea peli. Voitotkin meni 1-1.

I spent Fri-Sun in Katarina's cottage and we had two games of Agricola on Friday. The new game of the weekend was Canopy which is a nice set collection game with a rainforest theme. The highest tree gives extra points. Also plants and animals give points, some of the latter ones also good functions. An easy nice game. Wins 1-1.

Kisan jälkeen kiiruhdin vapauttamaan nuorison leffailtaan ja vietin muutaman hauskan tunnin Artturin kanssa. On kyllä mainio tapaus tämä eka lapsenlapsi. ❤️ Leikkimistä, käytiin vähän ulkona, lisää leikkimistä, iltapala, suihku & hampaiden pesu ja niin vain jäpikkä nukahti mun sänkyyn viemänä. 

After the race I walked to give youngsters a free movie night and spent a few hours with my grandson Artturi. He's a really nice fellow! ❤️ We played with different toys, visited the yard and played a bit more. Then evening snack, shower and brushing teeth and he fell asleep with me (well, I didn't, but I brought him to bed).

Viikolla osuin torille samaan aikaan kuin vanhojen autojen harrastajat. Tuollainen Ford Anglia on ensimmäinen auto, jonka muistan kotoa lapsuudesta (tuossa ja samat serkukset 44 vuotta myöhemmin). 

Earlier last week I happened to walk through the market square just when old cars gathered there. That Ford Anglia is the first car model of my parents that I remember (here and the same cousins 44 years later).

On my way to date night on Wednesday I saw this cool cloud.

Lisää lapsuus- ja nuoruusmuistoja tuli kävellessä Onkilahden rannan puistossa. Ennen paalauskoneeseen siirtymistä olin heinäpellolla reikävastaava rautakangen kanssa.

More childhood and teenage memories came on my walk near my home. Before we started to use the hay baler I was responsible for making the holes for those haystacks. 

Sunnuntaina koko Sulvan alueella oli kirpparipäivä, me kierrettiin pikaisesti katsomassa vain Stundarssin aluetta. 

On Sunday the whole Sulva area had flea market day. We visited just the nearby area.

Lopuksi otettiin vielä vege-hampurilaiset naapurista.

And finally had veggie-hamburgers on the house next door. 

Viikon yllätyspeli oli norjalainen Revive. Tuo tosiaan oli kehujensa arvoinen peli ja varsinkin kahdella oli sujuva pelata. Otin viikonlopuksi mukaan kolme muutakin peliä, mutta pelattiin vain tätä kolmena päivänä ja noin kolme tuntia per peli. Tuossa on paljon kaikkea, mutta pelaaminen oli kuitenkin yllättävän selkeää. Rakennetaan omaa korttipakkaa, jolla sitten pelataan oman heimon erityisominaisuuksien kanssa tuohon kolmerataisen teknologialaudan ala- tai yläpuolelle. Yhteiseltä laudalta tutkitaan aluetta ja rakennetaan sinne lisähyötyjä kerätäkseen. Pisteitä tulee monesta eri paikasta. Jännä peli, jossa voitot nyt 2-1 Katarinan eduksi.

The surprise game of the week was Revive. It was really worth the good points it has received and a good game for two. I took three other games for the weekend but at the end we played this every day (three times and three hours per game). There's a lot going on but the game play is surprisingly simple. We build our own card deck which we then played on the upper or lower side of that own technology board. Each player has their own tribe features. From the common play area we searched the tiles and build small or big buildings there to gather goods. Points are coming from several sources. Exciting game and at the end Katarina is now winning 2-1.

Viikon kuva - Puolitoistavuotispäivä

Lauantaina oli Katarinan kans 1,5vuotispäivä ensitapaamisesta. ❤️ Lisäkoristeena tähän viikon kuvaan otin viikonlopun uuden pelin. 

Last Saturday was our 1,5 year anniversary since we met for the first time. ❤️ Additional decoration is the new game for the weekend.

Ykköskuvana olisi voinut olla myös Mikon synttäreiden kunniaksi tehty reissu Seinäjoelle. Syötiin ekaksi Holy Smoke -ravintolassa. 

The photo of the week could as well have been Mikko's birthday which we celebrated with a trip to Seinäjoki. First a visit to Holy Smoke restaurant.

Then a stand up show by Ismo Leikola. The photo is from the beginning of the intermission. 

Saatiin kolme fanikuvaa Ismon kanssa, Mariannen ja Katarinan omat löytyy myös kotiarkistosta. Edellisen pyysin 2018, siellä näkyy kyynärsauvaakin vielä.

Me, Katarina and Marianne got our own fan selfies with Ismo. My previous one was in 2018 where you can see a bit of my crutches as I had difficult year legwise.

Vielä tuo viikonlopun uusi peli: Olut ja Leipä (lisätietoa englanniksi viereisen kappaleen linkistä). Tuo kahden pelaajan kisa hankkia raaka-aineita ja valmistaa olutta + leipää. Näiden tuloksista se pienempi on oma pistemäärä, joten molempia kannattaa saada valmiiksi aika tasaisesti. Korteilla on kolme käyttöä, niillä voi hankkia viljaa ja vettä, tai valmistaa jompaa kumpaa tuotetta tai kortin alareunasta voi valita itselleen apuominaisuuksia pelin ajaksi tai loppupisteiden laskuun.

The new board game for the weekend was Beer & Bread. It's a two player game where you produce the two things you can guess. 😃 The smaller of the results is your end score so an even result is good to get. Cards have three possible uses: you can get ingredients with them, the middle gives you a recipe to produce either product and the lowest part of every card can be used as an upgrade to your functions (either during the game or for endpoints).

Viikon kuva - Hyvästit kummisedälle

Viime viikolla tapahtuikin paljon. Valittu kuva tuli lauantailta, joka aloitettiin Ylistarossa saattamalla Toivo (Topi) haudan lepoon. Tyttärensä menettivät isän, mun äiti veljensä ja mä kummisedän. 

A lot happened again last week. The chosen photo is from last Saturday which I started by participating in my godfather's funeral. My mother lost a brother and my cousins here lost their father. 

Tilaisuuden jälkeen oltiin pitkästä aikaa samassa kuvausjonossa äiteen ja veljesten kanssa.

After the burial I got a rare photo of my mother and her three sons in a row.

Mutta aloitetaan alkuviikosta. Maanantaina käytiin Katarinan veljen synttäreiden kunniaksi  lounaalla.

But back to the beginning of the week. On Monday we had the birthday lunch of Katarina's brother.

Keskiviikkona tuli mun lapset, anoppi ja lapsenlapsi Artturi kylälle mökille. 

On Wednesday my kids, my grandson Artturi and my mother-in-law visited us for the day.

Torstaina tuli käymään Katarinan tytär ja kolme lastaan. 

On Thursday the visitors were Katarina's daughter and her three kids.

Lauantain hautajaisista ajettiin mun tyttären Mariannen kanssa Finncon 2023 tapahtumaa katsomaan Tampereelle. Oon tilannut 80-luvulta asti Tähtivaeltaja-lehteä ja sitä on tehnyt koko ajan Toni Jerrman. Tänä vuonna pyysin juttelun lopuksi fanikuvan.

On Saturday after the funeral I drove to Tampere to participate in Finncon 2023 with my daughter. Here's me in a fan photo with the guy who's been doing a scifi magazine since the 80's. And I've been a subscriber since then. I had chatted with him earlier but now I also asked for a pic.

Conin mentyä iltatauolle mentiin Mariannen kans lautapelikahvila Tavernaan iltapalalle ja otettiin erä Colorettoa.

After the Con I went with Marianne to a board game cafe Taverna. There we had an evening snack and a round of Coloretto.  

Iltakävelyllä tuli vastaan muistutus omasta iästä. Tässä on eka Tampereella 1920 tehty höyryveturi, joka on jäänyt pois käytöstä 1965. Eli mä oon syntynyt höyryveturien aikakaudella! 😲 (eipäs naureskella, wikipedian mukaan viimeiset otettiin pois käytöstä -72)

On my evening walk I met a reminder that I'm maybe old. I was born in the era when steam trains were still used in Finland! 😲 This old train was built in 1920 and retired in 1965. (and I found from wiki that the last steam trains were retired in -1972...)

Sunnuntaina käytiin Tampereen keskustassa ja kurkattiin lähekkäin olevat Puolenkuun pelit ja Fantasiapelit -liikkeet. Katunäkymä:

On Sunday morning we first visited two board game stores in Tampere. This was the nice street view next to the first one.

Sen jälkeen lisää Finnconia. Kuunneltiin esim Soikkelin esitys lautapeleistä.

Then back to Finncon. This was from a presentation regarding Scifi and Fantasy in board games.

Conin lähes lopuksi sain vihdoin aikaiseksi hankkia tämän vuoden ekat osallistujat 100 tuntematonta sarjaani. Aamu ja Jonne lupautuivat kuvattavaksi.

Just before the Con ended I finally got my first 100 strangers participants for this year. Aamu and Jonne promised that I could take a photo of them.

Viikon kuva - autoreissun kätevyys

Viikon kuva on vielä meidän autoreissun tunnelmista. Maisemat oli monesti tällaisia privaatisti nautittuja merenranta-näkymiä.

The photo of the week is about the mood of our road trip. The scenery was mostly like this, i.e. a private seashore view.

Sunnuntaina ajettiin Ylläsjärvelle ja maanantaina käytiin tunturin laella katsomassa maisemat. Onneksi mentiin gondolilla ylös, koska lämpöä oli taas n. 25C.  

On Sunday we drove to Ylläs in Finnish Lapland. Here we're going to the top of Ylläs on Monday. A wise choice as it was again quite warm (25C / 77F), which is good for being well further north than the Arctic circle.

Huipulla meni hauskasti pilvi ihan vierestä.

Toisella puolella oli pyöräreitti ja pari pilveä ohikulkumatkalla.

On the other side there was a bike track and a few clouds passing by.

Kahden Ylläs-yön jälkeen ajettiin IKEAn kautta Ouluun ja oltiin yötä Pateniemessä. Kaunis rauhallinen paikka.

After two Lapland nights we drove via IKEA in Sweden to Oulu in Finland. A peaceful nice place for our next night.

Tehtiin iltakävely viereisen asuinalueen merinäkymiä ihastellen.

We did an evening walk to admire the sea scenery of these apartment buildings.

Seuraavaksi illaksi ajettiin Tuuriin ja kaupusteltiin lisää. Kyläkaupan koti-osaston hieno koriste.

On the next day we continued to the South and visited another big shopping site. This was the decoration on the HOME department ('koti' in Finnish).

Keskisen leirintäalue olikin edukas yöpyminen (maksulliseksi paikaksi), kun sai telttapaikan 12 €. Siellä pelattiin illan lopuksi erä Azul Queen's Garden:ia (= Kuningattaren puutarha). Hyvä hiukan monimutkaisempi jatko mun edelliselle Azulille. Vierekkäin saa pistää palat, joissa on joko sama väri tai sama kuvio. Isommat pisteet antavat palat on myös kalliimpia. Ja pisteet lasketaan kaikista väri- ja kuvioryhmistä, joissa on vähintään kolme palaa.

The camping for the shopping centre was quite inexpensive as they want to get people there. The game for that evening was Azul Queen's Garden. This was a good sequel to my previous Azul version. You can put next to each other pieces which have the same colour or picture. The pieces giving bigger points are also more expensive to buy. And points are calculated from all the groups (by colour and picture) that have at least three pieces.

Ennen Vaasaa käytiin vielä moikkaamassa äiteetä ja otettiin erä Second Chancea. Sitten vierailu Fantasialinnassa ja kotiin. 

Before getting back to Vaasa we visited my mother and took two rounds of Second Chance. Then a visit to a board game shop and a drive home.

Tässä vielä meidän kulkuneuvo. Oli kyllä ylikätevä matkailukeino tuo Katarinan auto. Meillä mukana oli sänky, olohuone pöytineen, vessa, diesellämmitin ja keittiö jääkaappeineen + keittotasoineen. Keittiöpuoli tuli ulos liukukiskoilla tuosta edessä olevien penkkien alta. Kiitos vielä Pekalle lainasta! 🎁 

Here's our mobile home during the trip to Norway. This car of Katarina's was really handy for travelling. We had a bed, living room with table, toilet, diesel warmer and kitchen with fridge and hob (hopefully the right word). Those last two were pulled out from below benches with slide rails.

Lauantaina vietettiin muutama tunti Artturin kanssa. Tässä kiinnostuksen kohteena viereistä pyörärinkiä kiertävät tenavat.

On Saturday I spent a few hours with my grandson. Here we're closely following what the biking kids in the next area are doing.

Lauantai-illaksi siirryin Bergööhön ja pääsin testaamaan paljun. 

For Saturday evening I drove to the cottage and got to test the jacuzzi. 

Tiskaus on paljon mukavampaa, kun sen voi tehdä ulkona. 

Doing dishes is much nicer when it can be done outside.
