Viikon kuva - Uimahallikausi alkuun

Kuvia on taas kertynyt vähemmän, mutta tällä mennään. Viikon kuva oli taas taiteellista silmää miellyttävä. Käytettiin Katarinan kanssa töistä kulttuuriin ja urheiluun tarkoitettuja ePassi-rahoja 10 uimahallilipun ostoon. Käytiin viime viikolla kahdesti tekemässä juoksu + kuntosali + uintisessiot. 

I've got fewer pics than earlier but here we go again. The photo of the week is now for my artistic eye. We used our ePassi-money (company's support for culture and sports) to buy 10 tickets to the swimming hall. We visited there twice last week to do some running, gym and swimming.

Viikolle tuli taas peräti kaksi uutta peliä. Keskiviikkona otettiin erä pienehköä 2 de Mayo -peliä. Tuo on epäsymmetrinen peli toukokuun toisen vuonna 1808 tapahtumista Madridissa. Toinen pelaa ranskalaisia, joita on enemmän, mutta liikkuvat hitaammin. Toinen taas pelaa espanjalaisia, joita on vähemmän, mutta liikkuvat nopeammin. Tuo perustuu paljon historiallisiin tapahtumiin, mutta on tietysti rankasti yksinkertaistettu. Illan lopuksi vielä erä Azul Queen's Gardenia.

Last week we played two new games. On Wednesday the first game was 2 de Mayo, which is an asymmetrical game of Madrid's 2nd of May 1808 events. The other player is French, who has more troops but moves slower. The other is Spanish - they have less power but move faster. This is based on historical events, but naturally it's quite much simplified. After that we took a round of Azul Queen's Garden. 

Välillä on vielä kirkkaitakin päiviä, tässä näkymä töistä kotiin kävellessä.

Lauantaina otettiin uimahallikäynnin ympärillä kaksi erää isompaa uutta peliä, eli Newtonia. Tuossa ollaan keskiaikaisia tieteilijöitä, jotka lähettävät apureita ympäri Eurooppaa keräämään kirjoja hyllyynsä. Pisteitä tulee muutamasta eri lähteestä ja toimintojen valinta tehdään korteilla, joiden voimakkuus kumuloituu ovelasti. Taas mukava peli! 

On Saturday we played a new game before and after our swimming hall visit. The game was Newton. There players are scientists who send assistants around Europe to gather books for their bookshelf. Points are coming from a few different sources. Actions are selected with cards which get a cumulative power through quite a clever mechanic. Yet another fun board game! 

Sunnuntain pelinä oli vanha tuttu viime joulu- ja maaliskuulta: Paladins of the West Kingdom. Siitä jo täällä höyryveturin alla. Mä olin ihan varma voitostani ja Katarina, että häviää. Ja oltiin niukasti kolmen pisteen erolla molemmat väärässä. Jännä peli taas! 😃

An old friend from last December and March was at the table on Sunday. It was Paladins of the West Kingdom. Here's more of it below the steam train. I was sure that I would win, Katarina thought that she'll lose. And by 3 points difference we were both wrong. Yet another exciting game! 😃

Viikon kuva - Tapestryn pääkaupunki

Viikon kuva on pitkästä aikaa lautapelistä. Tämä yksi Tapestryn kentistä oli vain niin mukavan näköinen näiden pikkurakennusten ansiosta.

The photo of the week is of a board game for a change. This is a detail from Tapestry game, cool miniature buildings!

Kyseessä on siis viime viikon uusi peli Tapestry. Otettiin nopea parin tunnin opetteluerä keskiviikkon synttäreiden jälkeen ja sitten la-su molempina päivinä varsinaiset pelit (voitot niissä 1-1 😊). Mahtava peli!: omalla vuorolla tehdään joko rahastusvuoro, joita on käytännössä neljä pelin aikana. Tai voi edetä yhden askeleen jollain näistä neljästä radasta. Etenemisestä saa sitten jotain suoritettavaa toiminto: voi rakentaa omaa pääkaupunkia (edellinen kuva) tai tutkia yhteistä karttaa tai valloittaa siellä alueita. Lisänä on erilaiset pelaajavoimat, sekä teknologia- ja vuorokortit, joissa omia hyötyjään. Melko yksinkertaista, mutta vaihtoehtoja ja suunnittelua riittää.

The detail above is from the new game of last week: Tapestry. We had a quick two hour learning game on Wednesday after the birthday pizzas. Then on Sat-Sun we took the actual rounds, wins 1-1 😊. It's a great game! On your turn you can either do an income turn (in practice there's four of those during the game) or move one step on one of the four tracks. From forwarding on tracks you get some actions: you can build your capital city (the previous pic) or explore the common map or conquer areas there. In addition there are asymmetric player features and technology + tapestry cards which give other benefits. Quite simple but there's still a lot of options and planning. 

Maanantaina osui kohdalle hyvä auringonlasku ja otin kuvan siilojen entisestä paikasta. Jäljellä enää vain kuoppa.

The sunset on Monday happened just when I walked by the ex-silos. There's only a hole in the ground nowadays.

Viikolla tulikin Artturin näkemistä kolmena päivänä ti-ke-to. Tiistaina flunssapiikiltä tullessa nähtiin torin leikkialueella ja mentiin edestakaisin hauskaa kaaripolkua. 

Last week I got to see Artturi for three days.  On Tuesday while walking home from the flu shot visit I met the family on the playground at the Market Square. A nice walking path for the both of us.

Poika veti myös ekan kerran tiikerillä liukumäestä.

Keskiviikkona oltiin Elsan synttäri-pizzoilla ja Artturi ihmetteli Mikon kanssa kattoa. 

On Wednesday we had birthday pizzas with Elsa and my boys wondered about something on the roof.

Pizzan jälkeistä oleilua. Hyvää synttäriä Elsalle vielä kerran! 🌹

Torstaina oltiin vielä Artturin ja pikkusiskonsa kanssa Muumi-puistossa. 

On Thursday I went with Artturi, little sister and Marianne to a Mumin playground. 

Tuleva Meri-ravintolasauna etenee taas vähitellen.  

The oncoming Meri (= 'Sea') restaurant-sauna is advancing slowly.

La-Su olin taas mökillä, pelatiin muutama peli ja vietettiin mukavat päivät. 

We had a nice weekend at the cottage, a few board games and relaxing.

Viikon kuva - Västerön eteläinen rinki

Viikon kuvana on ryhmäkuva Wärtsilän valokuvauskerhon syksyn vaellukselta. Sää näytti huonolta, joten 9 perui. Mutta meillä matkaan lähteneillä oli tuuria ja muutaman minuutin kevyt piskottelu oli ainoa taivaalta tullut vesi.

The photo of the week is a group shot from our company's photo club hike. Weather looked quite rainy even on that morning and I received cancellation from 9 people. But we were lucky and all we got was a few minutes of light dripping.

Kerho teki tuon Västerö eteläinen -ringin edellisen kerran 11,5 vuotta sitten, joten jo oli aikakin. Taukotupa tuli liian pian, joten vain kurkattiin sisään.

This same route (southern round) was the destination for our club hike 11,5 years ago, so it was about time. The cottage for a break came too early so we just peeked in.

Matka oli sopiva 5,8 km ja oli kyllä paljon kaatuneita puita reitin varrella. 

The round was 5,8 km (3,6 mi) and had a lot of fallen trees on the path.

Väriä riitti pilvisyydestä huolimatta.

Aiemmin viikolla oli työpaikalla taas mahis verenluovutukseen. Mulle 38. kerta. Unohdin sanoa nimen Timojen ryhmään, joten jos hävitään, niin otan täyden poliittisen vastuun.

Earlier last week we had a possibility to donate blood during work time. It was my 38th time. There's a contest for different Finnish first names to collect most and I forgot to declare this to Timo's batch. 

Nuori väki ja Elsa kävi iltapalalla ja Artturi sai taas hiustenleikkuun. Vähän otti koville, mutta meni paremmin kuin viimeksi.

The young ones and Elsa visited for an evening snack. My grandson Artturi got a haircut. This time he took it a bit better than the previous one.

Viikon uutena pelinä oli Tiny Epic Tactics. Kuva on pelin lähes lopusta, kun enää mun yksi neljästä hahmosta oli jäljellä. Otettiin toinen erä taistelumoodilla sunnuntaina ja se tosiaan toimi vähän paremmin kahdella. Tuo perusversio vaatisi ehkä sen 3-4 pelaajaa. Kyseessä siis kätevä taistelupeli, jossa yritetään valloittaa lippupisteet ja vangita vastustajan hahmoja. Pelilauta on hauskasti eri tasoilla ja sillä on vaikutusta pelin pelaamiseenkin. 

The new game of the week was Tiny Epic Tactics. This photo is from the end of the game when I had just one of my four characters left. We took a re-match on Sunday with the Battle mode and it worked better for two. It might be that the basic version requires 3-4 players. So... this is a handy war game where we try to conquer points for flags and capture other player's characters. The game board is a clever multilevel battling area and it even affects the play.

Lauantain vaellus- ja pelipäivä jatkui mukavana iltana, kun saatiin lätty+pelivieraita. Sunnuntaina käytiin uusimassa kuntoportaat, pelattiin tuo edellinen peli uudelleen ja lisänä Five Tribes. Illalla vielä Se Toinen Missy -leffa.

After the hike on Saturday we played and got visitors for the evening for some pancakes and more board games. Sunday's program included fitness stairs, a replay of Tiny Epic and a game of Five Tribes. Then for the evening The Wrong Missy -movie.

Viikon kuva - Kuntoportaat

Viikon kuvana näkymä Sulvan kuntoportaiden huipulta. Käytiin testaamassa paikka keskiviikkoiltana. Rauhallista oli, ei näkynyt ketään muita.

The photo of the week is from the fitness stairs where we got some exercise on Wednesday. A peaceful place as nobody else was there during our visit. 

P-paikalta on matkaa portaille sopivat 700m.

Keskiviikkona pelattiin uutena Keyforge: Age of Ascension (kuvausta linkin takana). Periaatteessa kuulosti ja näytti hyvältä, joten ostin siihen vielä kolmannenkin pakan. Tämän erikoisuutena on, että jokainen pakka on valmis kokonaisuus ja ainutlaatuinen.  Mutta tuon ja viikonlopun uusintapelin jälkeen todettiin molemmat, että liian turhauttavan monimutkainen meille. Eli meni mun myytävien listalle (heittäkää viestiä, jos jokin näistä kiinnostaa). 

The new game of Wednesday was Keyforge: Age of Ascension (more explanation of the game behind that link). It looked promising so I even bought a third card deck. The special feature of this is that every deck in the world is unique. But after this game and the second one we played on Saturday this went to my for-trade-list. We've played quite complex games, but this felt a bit too frustrating.

Perjantaina osallistuttiin viiveellä presidentin kävelyhaasteeseen pitämällä päivänaloituspalaveri pururadalla. 

On Friday morning we had the day starting meeting in the exercise path and walked a 4 km round. A really nice activity for a change.

Matkalla mökille käytiin Maalahdessa erikoisliikkeessä. Tarjolla mukeja jollain oudolla kielellä.

On our way to the cottage we visited a specialty shop in Maalahti. They had mugs with a local dialect of Swedish. 

Perjantaina kokeiltiin toista uutta peliä: Azul ja se jää hyllyyn! Paitsi loman aikana, kun otetaan se mukaan. Pari uudempaa versiota on jo hyllyssä, mutta kyllä tällekin on paikkansa. Säännöt ovat yksinkertaisemmat, mutta tämä on nopeampi ja enemmän kontaktipeli. Ostin mini-version, joka on kätevää matkakokoa. Tuolla linkin takana kunnon selitys pelistä. 

The second new game of the week was Azul. And it will remain in my collection and will take it along for our vacation. I already have two newer versions but this is a good one too. Rules are less complex but this is faster to play and has more 'contact' with others. I acquired a mini-version which is handy for the trip. You'll find more information about the game behind the link above.

Viikonloppu vilahti nopeasti - pelailua, lepoa, syömistä, kuntosalia, vähän hommia ja saatiin valmiiksi tulevan lomareissun varaamiset. Lauantaina saunan lämmityksen aikaan näkyi taas hieno auringonlasku.

The weekend passed again quickly - resting, board games, exercising, eating, a bit of working and we finalized the accommodation bookings for our upcoming vacation. A beautiful sunset on Saturday evening while warming the sauna.

Viikon kuvan aiheina on ollut kaikenlaista, nyt pitkästä aikaa aiheena on 'me'. 🥰 Kuva otettu viime perjantaina Ritzissä, jossa oltiin katsomassa Jose Ahosen mentalisti-show Yli Luonnollisen. 

The subjects in my photo of the week series have varied a lot. It's been a while since the last time but now it's 'we'. 🥰 This photo is from the intermission of a mentalist show.

Viikolla näkyi työmatkalla vielä vähän kukkiakin, eli vielä on kesää jäljellä!

I saw some flowers while walking home from work. Summer is still here!

Keskiviikon treffi-illassa käytiin ensin katsomassa uutta lapsenlastani ja sen jälkeen vedettiin erä uutta peliä Tiny Epic Dinosaurs. Tuossa kisataan kuusi kierrosta dinosaurus farmin pitäjänä. Joka kierroksella hankitaan resurssit, lähetetään työntekijät eri puolille, aidataan ja sijoitellaan dinot puistoon, syötetään ne ja myydään niitä eteenpäin eläintarhoille. Taas hiukan omanlaisensa kisa oman koneiston optimoinnista. Jää hyllyyn! 

On our Wednesday date night we visited my newest grandchild. Then we took a round of Tiny Epic Dinosaurs. There we compete for six rounds in making a successful dinosaur ranch. On every round we acquire resources, send employees to do tasks, build fences and place dinos in the park. Then we feed them and sell them to zoos all over the world. Again a unique race to fine tune your machine and get the most points. Certainly a keeper in my board game shelf.

Viikonlopun kävelyltä kuva Söderfjärdenin reunan kautta kiertäneeltä kävelyltä. Pumppuaseman rakennusten välistä näkyi tällainen näkymä.

A view on our weekend walk by the Söderfjärden area. These buildings are a pump station near the fields. A nice and peaceful route to walk.

Lauantai-iltana saatiin mukavaa peliseuraa naapurista. Otettiin pitkän kautta erä Valparaisoa ja sen jälkeen pari pikapeliä Rummikubia. 

For Saturday evening we got a nice company for playing a long game of Valparaiso and then two quick rounds of Rummikub. 

Sunnuntaina saatiin peliseuraksi mun poika Mikko. Pelinä oli meidän aiemmin kahdestaan pelaama Tiny Epic Vikings. 

On Sunday my son Mikko visited and played with us in a battle of Tiny Epic Vikings.

Kun heitettiin Mikko takaisin käytiin samalla kävelyllä uusilla huudeilla Melaniemen ja Haapaniemen pyöräteillä.

After giving Mikko a ride home we did some walking in the new areas for us. A nice bike path through the woods.

Pikainen kurkkaus myös Alkulan tilaan, joka on 4H-yhdistyksen hoidossa. 

An association maintains this garden, a house and the area in general. A nice place to visit on our walk.
